CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY LINE

Robot Arm Background.jpg

This project involved the retooling of a cylinder head assembly line designed for two distinct V6 engine models: EVO and EP6. The line utilizes 4 Fanuc robots and is fully integrated with Mitsubishi controls architecture to ensure high precision and efficiency. With a cycle time of just 28 seconds, the system is optimized for rapid production, while maintaining exceptional reliability.

The project spans from April 2023 to February 2025, focusing on the integration of advanced robotic systems and the retooling of outdated technology. Special attention was given to leveraging existing components, including old Profibus communication cables and a TLC programmer, to facilitate seamless operation with the legacy Mitsubishi programming.

By the end of the project, the assembly line will be fully optimized to handle both EVO and EP6 engine variants, providing a state-of-the-art solution for modern manufacturing needs.
