With 135 years of engineering excellence and German craftsmanship, the GLOBAL RETOOL GROUP has evolved since 2004 from a traditional machine tool and automation company into an international leader in retrofitting, retooling, overhauling, and servicing machine tools.
1881
WEMA VOGTLAND was founded by J. C. & H. Dietrich in Plauen, a manufacturer of embroidery machines for the local textile industry.
1948
“MaschinenfabrikVOGTLAND“ - The company makes a fresh start after World War II.
2004
SVQ GmbH is founded in Erkrath and takes over a fixture supplier MAFOR in Saarland.
2005
The "SVQ group" acquires automation group Spicher GmbH and renames the company to Spicher Automation GmbH.
2010
WEMA VOGTLAND America LLC the group's US subsidiary for machine tool retooling is founded in Belvidere, IL, USA.
2011
Merger of the companies Siepmann GmbH and SpicherAutomation GmbH with SVQ GmbH under the umbrella of the GLOBAL RETOOL GROUP GMBH with headquarter in Lebach.
2016
Relocation of GRG America LLC to Wixom Michigan. Name change from WEMA to GRG America.
2018
GRG Mexico is born in Saltillo Mexico to mirror and support US and Europe customer base.
2019
GRG America LLC expanding its operations in Brighton Michigan.
2023
GRG America works with Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Citizens Bank for US based funding and ownership.
2024
Acquisition of Global Retool Group from US based investors resulting in the foundation of GRG North America and GRG Europe GMBH.
